CONNECTIONS THAT MATTER

All of us are participants in a world of endless connections, strung together by systems, governments, financial economies, and interpersonal relationships. A change to one component has endless effects on the others: the United States catches an economic cold and the financial markets in Asia are rattled; civil unrest in Haiti breaks out and governments around the globe adopt new foreign policies.

Despite the constant maneuvering, we all have a common goal: improve our quality of life while preserving the delicate balance. With nearly seven billion humans exerting sway, those who possess the knowledge have a tremendous advantage. This is the essence of the social and behavioral sciences — understanding and improving the connections that matter.
